  1.                                  Leon Hart was a giant in

  3.                                  the 1940ΓÇÖs and 1950ΓÇÖs. 
  4.                                  Leon stood 6' 5" tall and 
  5.                                  weighed 265 pounds. His 
  6. size was overwhelming at the time. Opposing 
  7. teams found it impossible to stop him.

  9. In college, Leon played offensive and 
  10. defensive end. He was on the field for the 
  11. entire game. On offense, Leon was a triple 
  12. threat: He blocked, ran with the ball, and 
  13. caught passes. During his four years at the 
  14. University of Notre Dame, the football team 
  15. went undefeated and won the national 
  16. championship in 1946, 1947, and 1949. 
  17. Leon was a three-time All-America. He 
  18. won the Maxwell Award in 1949 as the 
  19. nationΓÇÖs top player. He was also
